What's New 07-08

Solitude Turns 50!
Solitude Mountain Resort celebrates their Golden Anniversary! 50 years ago, the first skiers descended off the slopes of Solitude in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Now boasting 1,200 acres of uncrowded terrain - including Honeycomb Canyon - and a European style lodging village, Solitude has truly grown into a world class resort.

Moonbeam Base Area Complete
The Moonbeam Base has undergone a re-birth with the new Moonbeam Quad lift, a newly remodeled SnowSports Academy and the new Moonbeam Lodge. The Academy is a hallmark of efficiency that maintains Solitude’s one-stop & drop philosophy, plus allows room for new services, such as babysitting. The remodel allows the Academy to continue the tradition of individualized attention in the safest environment possible. Solitude has taken particular care to improve the skiing experience for beginner and intermediate visitors. The new Moonbeam quad lift services the heart of the mountain. With this lift, skiers and riders can access numerous blue and green runs groomed daily with meticulous care. Expanded snowmaking allows for improved coverage in high-traffic areas, which improves the snow all season-long.
